WAVES AND ROOTS
This work explores a childhood in motion, capturing the energy of play within a traditional kampung. At its heart is tarik upin, where the rhythmic gliding of the palm leaf mirrors the momentum of ocean waves. Housed within a surfboard-inspired frame and adorned with Bornean motifs, the composition bridges local memory with contemporary surf culture, allowing tradition and freedom to flow as one.
